Social Security Scotland recommends the following resources for organisations supporting clients who are applying for the Adult Disability Payment.
Helpful Adult Disability Payment links:
· Client Representative Guidelines
· Application Form for Use of Third Party Organisations
· Re-Determination Form Link
If a client is unhappy with the decision on how much they will receive, a re-determination of the application can be requested within 42 days of the decision. Social Security Scotland has 56 days to consider the application afresh.
Clients should tick the box on the re-determination form to ensure they receive 'Short Term Assistance,' which will plug the gap of any reduction of payment following the award review, which they are requesting should be re-determined.
· Appeals Form
If the client is unhappy with the re-determination decision or didn't receive one within the 56-day window, then the client has up to 31 days to make an appeal.

From summer 2022, Personal Independence Payments are being automatically replaced by the Adult Disability Payment, which will be administered by Social Security Scotland. Those already in receipt of PIP will automatically be given the Adult Disability Payment and notified of this change before it takes place.
