Campa Sradagan has taken place overy summer since 1997 and many Gaelic speaking children from all over Scotland have taken part. These camps are vital if young people are to be encouraged to use their Gaelic facility. This year they are once again returning to Harris where the camps have been based for eight or nine years. The programme is a mix of outdoor activities such as gorge walking and stand-up paddle boarding as well as arts and crafts, beach games, eagle spotting, quizes and the famous final night cèilidh. Spòrs Gàidhlig exisits to provide opportunities for young people to use Gaelic through safe, fun and adventurous activities. These can be stand alone, or linked to the Curriculum and school-based learning. They cater for Gaelic speakers, Gaelic learners and those new to the language. The aim is to provide young people with positive, supportive and fun experiences through Gaelic. They are offering a £10 discount on places on the first Campa Sradagan in 2020 for any registration made before the end of January. That means that places are available for £265 instead of the normal price of £275.
