Motion S5M-19713: The Return of Gorbachev

That the Parliament commends the former USSR leader, Mikhail Gorbachev, for declaring his support for nuclear disarmament in a recent BBC interview; considers that his belief that all nations should dismantle their nuclear weapons for the safety of the public and the environment largely align with the opinions of those in Scotland; recognises what it considers the importance of such an influential figure announcing his support for nuclear disarmament, and believes that Scotland should take the first step in dismantling Trident.
