That the Parliament congratulates Active Seniors in Glasgow on winning the Age Scotland 2019 Services for Older People Award at the Age Scotland National Conference and Awards Ceremony on 20 March 2019; recognises that the Active Seniors group was founded in 2002 and is partly funded by the National Lottery Community Fund; notes that the group seeks to break down barriers, including poverty and fear, so that older people in the north west Glasgow area can engage fully in their communities and enjoy later life; further notes that the group’s activities involve tea dances, outings and an annual Day in the Park event, which provides information and entertainment for older people, and wishes Active Seniors a long and successful future improving and enriching the lives of older people in Glasgow.
