That the Parliament congratulates Takoma Park City Council on reports that it has voted unanimously to make the suburb of Washington DC a nuclear-free zone in compliance with the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons; understands that the community prohibits companies involved in the production of nuclear weapons from engaging in business in the area and from bidding on its contracts; believes that the council also avoids investments in such companies; considers that this is very encouraging for the other towns and cities across the world that aspire to create nuclear-free zones, and wishes the people of Takoma Park all the best in their non-proliferation endeavours.
