That the Parliament notes what is considered to be an historic vote of 126 nations for, with 38 nations against and 16 nations abstaining at the UN in respect of a ‘legally binding instrument to prohibit nuclear weapons, leading towards their total elimination’, which is to be negotiated in March 2017, and considers that this could lead to a treaty on nuclear weapons, which are the most powerful of all weapons of mass-destruction, joining chemical and biological weapons in being banned from being manufactured, stored or used by any nation state.
